On (12/03/2025) as per the directions of the Hon'ble High Court, a mobile court was conducted against 02 illegal brick kilns located in Kaliganj Upazila by the joint initiative of Upazila Administration, Kaliganj and Department of Environment, Lalmonirhat District Office. At that time, the fire of 02 (two) illegal brick kilns located in Kaliganj was extinguished with water, raw bricks were broken, the brick kiln walls were broken with an excavator and the chimney was made unusable and all the activities of the brick kiln were stopped. Upazila Executive Officer and Executive Magistrate Mr. Sifat Anwar Tumpa performed the judicial duty in the mobile court and Inspector of the Department of Environment, Lalmonirhat District Office Md. Golam Asif Rahman provided the prosecution. Also present at the time were Mr. A. K. M Fazlul Haque, Additional Superintendent of Police (A-Circle), Lalmonirhat and Assistant Director of the Department of Environment, Lalmonirhat District Office Mr. Bijon Kumar Roy. In addition, members of the Lalmonirhat Camp of the Bangladesh Army, Kaliganj Upazila Police, Fire Service, Kaliganj provided overall cooperation in the said operation. 02 M/s BBMC Bricks The fire at the brick kiln was extinguished with water, the raw bricks were broken, the brick kiln walls were broken with an excavator and the chimney was made unusable and all activities at the brick kiln were stopped.


Such campaigns against brick kilns will be continued by the Department of Environment, Lalmonirhat District Office, to control environmental protection and air pollution.
