Special instructions to stop open burning of waste and prevent air pollution caused by open construction materials


Open burning of waste and open construction materials in Dhaka and its surrounding areas is causing severe air pollution. As a result, people are facing serious health risks including premature death.

+ Stop open storage and burning of all types of waste;

+ Spray water to control dust during construction work, cover construction materials for transportation and storage, do not leave them in open places and ensure the use of appropriate fencing to control dust pollution where applicable.

2. In case of open burning of waste and open construction materials causing air pollution, there is a provision of a maximum fine of 02 (two) lakh taka or imprisonment of 02 (two) years or both as per the Air Pollution (Control) Rules, 2022.
