In addition to vehicles, brick kilns, uncontrolled infrastructure and facility construction activities throughout the country, excessive air pollution is being created through open transportation of sand, soil, stone, bricks and waste and open burning of waste. In this context, special instructions have been given to the departments/agencies/institutions, industrial factory owners and the general public to take the following actions to control air pollution in Dhaka and neighboring cities:
1. After installing or repairing various utility service facilities (such as water, gas, electricity, etc.) on the roads, carpet the roads as soon as possible to control dust and create a clean environment
2. To prevent air pollution throughout the country including Dhaka city, vehicles that have exceeded their economic life should be urgently withdrawn from the roads and defective pollution-causing vehicles should be repaired quickly;
3. Leaving waste on roads, roads, highways or open places and burning them in the open should be completely stopped. This is a punishable offense;
4. Operate air-polluting industries (brick kilns, cement, steel, re-rolling, etc.) in an environmentally friendly manner in accordance with appropriate laws and regulations;
5. Dirt, garbage and dust generated in various markets, shopping malls, commercial establishments and homes cannot be thrown on the road or burned.
