Department of Environment, Lalmonirhat District Office operates mobile courts at 01 brick kiln in Kaligajna Upazila

 Tuesday (11/02/2025) afternoon, the Upazila Administration, Kaliganj and the Department of Environment, Lalmonirhat jointly initiated a case against 01 brick kiln located in Kaliganj, M/s BBMC Bricks for operating the kiln without an environmental clearance certificate and a license from the District Commissioner. The brick kiln was stopped and a fine of 1,00,000/- (one) lakh taka was imposed. The learned Executive Magistrate and NDC Mr. SM Shafayet Akhtar Noor performed the judicial duty in the mobile court operation. At this time, Mr. Md. Golam Asif Rahman, Inspector of the District Environment Department, gave the prosecution. Upazila Fire Service, Thana Police, Ansar and other officials and employees of the administration were present. It was informed that such operations against illegal brick kilns will continue for environmental protection and control of air pollution.
