Today, January 21, 2025, the Department of Environment, Lalmonirhat, organized an open discussion program and quiz competition on the role of the Zero Waste Brigade in environmental protection and the use of plastic alternatives in the school hall with the students of the Lalmonirhat Government Girls' High School on January 21, 2025.
The speakers present at the event discussed the role of the Zero Waste Brigade and the use of plastic alternatives. Mr. Md. Mahbubur Rahman, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General), Lalmonirhat, was present as the main discussant at the event. He said, "A Zero Waste Brigade club will be formed in each educational institution of Lalmonirhat and we will play a role in protecting the environment and climate by forming teams with people from all walks of life."
After that, a quiz competition on the environment was held among the 100 students present and after the initial selection, three people were finally declared the winners. Then, the District Administration and Environment Department, Lalmonirhat, organized a plant plantation event in the school grounds organized by Sabuj Sheba Foundation. The headmaster of Lalmonirhat Government Girls High School, Md. Ayub Ali, presided over the event. The event was moderated by the Assistant Director of the Environment Department, Lalmonirhat, Mr. Bijan Kumar Roy. Also present were Mr. Md. Golam Asif Rahman, Inspector of the Environment Department, District Office, Mr. Sadiqul Islam, Representative of the Biodiversity Welfare Organization, Assistant Professor of Lalmonirhat Government College, Mr. Sadiqul Islam, and the President of the organization, Mr. Nishikant Roy, Green Voice Lalmonirhat District Representative, Mr. Redwan Ranga, President of Sabuj Sheba Foundation, Mr. Md. Khairul Kabir, and members of the foundation, Mr. Bipul Islam, Mr. Md. Ashraful Islam, Mr. Md. Azharul Islam, Mr. Md. Kamal Uddin, and many others.
